Community Project Skilled india
Computer Literacy Program
Community project Skilled India (CPSI) offers computer literacy opportunities for people from all strata of society, enabling them to enhance their computer related skills and improve their livelihoods. Our programs conducted at the Department of Physics, Mumbai University saw immensely enthusiastic participation of more than hundred people from all walks of life such as those working as peon, security, tea vendor, sweepers, vegetable vendor, housewives, students etc. to name a few in Mumbai. For the first time, this workshop witnessed three generations of participants, clearly restating the fact that age can never be a bar for people willing to learn and prosper.
Another key observation from this program was enthusiastic participation from senior citizens right from housewives to retired people staying at home who always found it very challenging to cope up with the fast changing trends in digital technology today like online banking, online reservation systems, availing medical assistance etc. We realized that this workshop was successful in giving them the much required confidence to handle basic applications of Computer and Internet.
The project recognized the importance of digital skills in the modern world and sought to bridge the digital divide by offering accessible and comprehensive computer education. This initiative was widely recognized through media coverage.
